Jinadu Fadekemi : My Camp Experience

My Experience

My Name is Jinadu Fadekemi but known in CAA as CBC (join CAA to know what if means 😉) My first camp experience (2017) was crazy cuz a week to the camp I had no idea there’s something called Camp Adventure Africa. I was packing my bags in preparation for the December break when my cousin messaged me and ask if I would be interested in attending camp with just few details and I told him that am in but I was not with the exact money he told me, no sneakers, no backback, no trouser, no short, no vest just my handbag and travelling bag. 😓

On the D’day I carried my Big Traveling and a small handbag (I can’t imagine someone hiking the mountain with that type of bag🙆) I Sha carried myself, the handbag and the big bag to the meeting point at Ibadan (that’s when the training started😆). When I got the allocated waiting room it was filled with people and I just sat and the sanguine in me started working. I mixed with people and really appreciated their advice on what to wear and what to carry. I had to rearrange my bag and put the most important things into the handbag o

Ekiti people are just one of a kind. I can tell you for a fact. The feeling of fresh morning dew on the mountain and the wonderful experiences at Erin Ijesha as well as Ikogosi is still indescribable. The adventure felt like home outside home. The view from the top of the mountain was mind blowing. Nigeria is actually so beautiful. If you know, you know! When it comes to peace, forget it, this summer camping is the best place I will definitely choose to clear my head. As a volunteer, I feel pity when I see so many people in need. It broke my heart when I saw the number of people at Ekiti state and how desirous they were to just have basic needs. It wasn’t like some places in a busy city where some will be shy. In this case, all of them came out in large numbers to get what they needed. I really didn’t expect that. I didn’t believe my eyes when I saw them.

Quite alot of experiences but to mention a few. Loads of items were given out at the last experience and still, we had this old woman that needed a slippers. Just a pair of slippers!

That’s to let us know that little things could really mean so much to someone.
